Lower Binogsacan National High School was named after the place where it is situated and founded - Binogsacan. Binogsacan was named as because during the older days people who lined up in the hills threw rocks to the people passing in the valley below, whom they live to be theirs. So it seemed that in this place it rained rocks the place became known as “bagsakan ng bato”, and as time passed by it became known as BINOGSACAN.
Lower Binogsacan National High School is a national high school based on 10,000 m2 lot area established in 2001. It is situated along Maharlika Highway in Lower Binogsacan, Guinobatan, Albay approximately 3kms from the town center of Guinobatan. The lot was acquired through donation from one of the prominent family of the barangay. It is one of the progressive high schools in the municipality and in the whole district populated with 801 students, 28 faculty members, with seven non-teaching personnel and headed by Principal I. It offers both Junior and Senior High School under the K to 12 Curriculum. The Senior HS offers TVL Track with strands in AFA (Agri-Crop Production), ICT (Computer System Servicing) and HE (Cookery, Bread and Pastry, Food and Beverage Services).
The school system adopted the best management through the cooperation of the PTA, LGU, Alumni, NGOs, GOs and other stakeholders. The environment is always conducive to the learning and teaching process. Due to dedication and commitment of the faculty and staff, the students have won several contest that they have participated in from school level, up to the regional level. A thing that the entire school community is proud of.
The continued unfailing support hopefully would help a lot in the realization of its primordial goal, that of providing quality education to the young people of the community. Hopefully, the school is aiming to produce young graduates that could easily adapt to the fast technology breakthrough that would fit them in the growing demands of the country’s workforce. Thus it is imperative for the school to provide a quality secondary education in order to create greater opportunities to meet the global competitiveness required.
In 2001, Lower Binogsacan National High School opened with only six (6) teachers and makeshifts classrooms that do not have walls. The number of teachers rose to 28 and along with the five (5) makeshift classrooms, three (3) concrete classrooms which was formerly belonged to the elementary schools were turned over to the high school as a donation of the government before the graduation of the first batch in 2004 (SY 2003-2004).
At present, there are 34 permanent classrooms with HE, ICT and AFA equipment. The comfort rooms and hand washing water needs are sufficient because the school serve as an evacuation center during calamities.
